Ben Platt to resign as New Zealand prime minister, say report – Fox Sports

Ben Platts resignation as New Zealander’s prime minister has been confirmed by the Prime Minister’s Office.
Mr Platts has been appointed interim prime minister by Prime Minister John Key on a two-year term.
Key has been on the job since December and has said that Mr Platts would remain as PM until a new PM was appointed.
However, he will step down from his post as a result of the appointment.
He will take over as interim PM for a period of four months.
In a statement, Mr Key said Mr Platt was committed to helping the Prime Ministers work with the Opposition to deliver a successful election.
“Mr Platt will be the Prime Minster for the remaining two months of the term.”

“Key’s appointment was announced on Tuesday, after Mr Plats resignation as Prime Minister in December.
The PMO said the two-term PM would continue to serve as PM in his role until the new PM is appointed.
